Surveyors open a new office closer to group of high-profile clients
An expanding firm of chartered quantity surveyors and project managers expects to create jobs after opening a new office in Exeter.
The Gates Partnership has established a base at Exeter Airport Business Park as a result of its involvement in a growing number of projects in the area.
The practice specialises in projects ranging in value from £50,00 to £25m.
Heading up the Exeter office is practice associate Bob Clay, who has worked all over the UK and abroad during his 31 years in the construction industry and was previously based at the firm's Plymouth branch.
Mr Clay said: "We already carry out a large amount of work in the area for some very high-profile clients.
"This currently includes three projects for the University of Exeter and the new £2.5m fire station at Howell Road for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service, so it made strategic sense to have a permanent presence in the city.
"Having a local office closer to the proximity of our Exeter clients means we can react more quickly to their needs and makes us more efficient and cost effective."
While quantity surveying remains at the core of Gates' business, other activities include project management, cost planning, funding advice and sourcing.
The practice was established more than 60 years ago. It also has offices in Taunton, Barnstaple and Plymouth.
